About Me
Having been Head of Maths at leading London prep schools including Sarum Hall, Arnold House, Falcons Prep and Westminster Cathedral Choir School, my results are a testament that my systems work. As a result of my extensive experience and having trained maths teachers new to the profession, I'm regarded as the very best in the business. I’m a patient, adaptable, reliable and professional maths tutor with the sole purpose of ensuring your child reaches their full potential.
Being a member of the Mathematical Association of GB, for the past 7 years I have been a lead member in writng the official questions for the Primary Maths Challenge (Year 5 and 6) and First Maths Challenge (Years 3 and 4). I take great pride and responsibility in this, especially as they are two of the largest maths competitions aimed towards primary school children across the country.

I offer one-to-one in-person tuition covering postcodes of Hampstead (NW3 and NW6), St. John's Wood (NW8) and Maida Vale (W9).
My lessons are charged at the rate of £120 per 45 minutes or at the equivalent rate of £160 per 60 minutes. I would advocate that children aged 5 to 7 take a 45 minute session once per week. For those preparing for the 11+ and beyond, I would strongly recommend a 60 minute session once per week (£160). Not only is the content level greater and more demanding but also you would be surprised at just how quickly 45 minutes can fly by! With this, I can assure you that your child is receiving the very best maths education possible. Being regarded as the leading expert in my field, the results and progress my students make are exemplary.
This happens through a unique combination of personalized attention, patience, exam technique, past paper practice, motivation and hard work that allow for my students to excel! I make learning maths enjoyable through engaging and outside-the-box activities (plus a touch of maths-magic and good humour!) designed to build confidence and to ensure your child develops a love for maths!
As well as being fully DBS checked, I am completely familiar with every aspect of 7+, 11+ and 13+ preparation.
Having also been Head of Reasoning (both Verbal and Non-Verbal) at Westminster Cathedral Choir School for numerous years, I am in a very fortunate position to be able to offer preparation in this area for the pre-test examinations of Year 6.
To those further afield, lessons can be conducted remotely via ZOOM at the same rate of £120 per 45 minutes (or equivalent).

Homework Policy
I would like to make it clear that my lessons are planned incredibly carefully to ensure that your child fosters a love of maths and performs confidently in their exams. For this reason I DO NOT do school homework, and nor do I set a homework activity after each session. I would like to reassure you that all consolidation, practice and recap are incorporated into my lessons. The exception to my homework policy is in the final 5 months prior to the 11+ / 13+ exams. This is when I would be expecting your child to be completing a weekly paper supplied by myself.
Cancellation Policy
It is understandable that every now and then a lesson may need to be cancelled. Unlike other tutors, it is NOT my policy to charge for ANY lessons that do not take place. (The exception to this, is if I arrive at the agreed location and the student is unavailable, then the full payment is still payable).
As a small business and with limited slots available, I would expect that you keep to your weekly allocated (term-time) slot and only cancel as a last resort or illness. When a cancellation is not due to illness, I would expect you to make every effort to reschedule that session before the following weekly session occurs.
If I notice a pattern of repeated cancellations occurring, (or a persistent unwillingness to reschedule cancelled sessions), then unfortunately I would need to offer your slot to somebody else.
During school holidays, I would NOT be expecting you to keep to your allocated slot. Though, provided I am present, and if you would like sessions during the holidays, I can be much more flexible with my timings!
